What is a Clause? In English grammar, a set of words that includes both a subject and a predicate is referred to as a clause. The person or object that the clause is about is referred to as the subject, and the action that the subject is performing or the state that the subject is in is referred to as the predicate of the clause. There are two main types of clauses: independent clauses and dependent clauses. Independent Clauses A clause is considered to be independent when
